OCEANS 5 is an international funders’ collaborative dedicated to stopping overfishing, establishing marine protected areas, and constraining offshore oil and gas development – three of the highest priorities identified by marine scientists around the world.
GRID-Arendal is the lead organization, responsible for the overall project and financial management and quarterly reporting, application of technological solutions, capacity building and training, and support all project activities.
MPEM (Ministère de la pêche et de l’économie maritime) is the Ministry of the Republic of Guinea with up to 1000 employees in charge of developing, coordinating, promoting and monitoring the implementation of policies in Fisheries and the Maritime Economy.
PRCM (Partenariat Régional pour la conservation Côtière et Marine), a regional NGO registered in Senegal, which is a coalition of 78 organizations working on marine and coastal conservation in 7 countries on the West-African coastline, including neighbouring countries like Senegal.
TMT (Tryg Matt Tracking), an international non-profit organisation that identifies, investigates and analyses illegal fishing operations and associated fisheries crime, will provide capacity building, training and analytical support to relevant government bodies and CSOs.
For over 23 years Rob has been a noteworthy leader in the communications and outreach space, leading the development of new media; pioneering web development, video production and graphic design during his 20 years residence at GRID-Arendal.
Romain is an agro-economist by training with over seven years of international experience in the field of fisheries, governance support, natural resource management and community development.
