Romain is an agro-economist by training with over seven years of international experience in the field of fisheries, governance support, natural resource management and community development.
Originally from France, he joined the GRID-Arendal “Transboundary Governance and Environmental Crime” team in 2020. His work focuses on different themes and programmes, including the management of a project against Illegal Unreported and Unregulated fisheries activities on the African West coast, supporting the local institutions and communities in their will to improve the governance of the local resources; or the Investigative Environmental Journalism grant project, placing environmental crimes in the spotlight of international attention and engaging in actions against it. 

He is acting as Project manager for the GRID-Arendal in the project “Reinforcing fisheries’ governance in Guinea”.
